I have a
love of stuff toys. I used to have a collection that I got rid off during the
decluttering phase of my life. Now I have given in and bought myself Shaun the
sheep. He is the ultimate cartoon character for me. Kind, smart and helpful. I
know that Asians have their idiosyncrasy when it comes to things like that. I love bowls,
stationary, stuff toys and the list goes on. I do not however engage in collecting
it as I live in a tiny apartment that I like to keep as tidy and empty as
possible. The tidy part is due to growing up with a semi hoarder grandmother
but that is another story that I may tell one day.
Anyway, I
brought Shaun on my first trip and plastered his picture all over my facebook account.
One of my friends asked me what is it with me and Shaun the sheep and I can
only say that I love him and that T.I was born in the year of the sheep for a
lack of better answer. I just find Shaun adorable. A grown up 38 year old who
loves a stuff animal.
We were in
Oslo and Sweden this weekend. Of course as the crazy Asian that I am I brought
Shaun along. He had to check out the bed, look at the people around and went
with us to where we went.
We tried
out a Brazillian churrasco in Oslo. The food was wonderful and I love the
service. As a waitress for many years I set a high standard as to what I expect
and this place totally exceeded my expectations. They came several times to ask
if we wanted anymore drinks and cleared tables immediately. When I reordered my
soda, I got a new glass with ice which I highly appreciate as there is nothing
worst than drinking soda with no ice in a restaurant. Shaun was rather shocked
as they had lamb on the menu but we did not have any. What we had were beef and
sausages and more beef. I love my beef and tender Brazillian beef just made my
day. They had several birthdays there and they sang and gave you a carnival
head gear to use so that basically everyone there knew who was the one
celebrating their day. When we were about to leave, suddenly it was announced
that there were to be a mini carnival, out came 2 skimpily clad females in the
cold of February, shaking their booty and what not. I am totally impressed as
they were definitely not locals as they have round ass and the ability to shake
it like only those who grew up there can. The long tiny heals that they wore
made me wanted to bow to them and say master please take me as your student
while they shake their legs and body.
We then did
the normal walk around to look at people and window shop, ate our way through
Oslo and sat in cafes to have coffee (which I don’t drink by the way, I am not
grown up yet)
I love
exploring a big city as you never know what you will find. We found a new store
selling olive oil which I did not buy anything and Kusmi tea to which I bought
3 types of tea, 2 cups and a teapot. I was like a kid in a candy store as I
drink tons of tea at work. I bought the peppermint tea, spearmint and Anastasia
tea. Tor on the other hand is a coffee drinker and we bought 3 different kinds
of coffee for him.
We ended
our trip in Sweden buy filling up a grocery cart with tons of food so that I
can make food for us at home and save money for our trips. We already have one plan at the end of March but that is both pleasure and some 'business' involved.
